How to share an article on StumbleUpon from WordPress

In this article we are going to look at the steps we will undertake to publish an article to StumbleUpon . For specific login details – these will vary from organisation to organisation – however herein will assume we are publishing for David Cruwys from Ideasmen.

Select the Post You Would Like to Publish on StumbleUpon from WordPress


Go into the WordPress for the site you wish to publish for instance and sign in. Then

  1. Click the Posts button on the left hand navigation bar
  2. Click the article you wish to promote
  3. Ensure that you are only doing this for articles which are published – you can ratify this by the status of the article

Open the Article You Wish to Post on StumbleUpon


Now that you are only the WordPress for the actual page:
1. Hold Control and click “View Post” – which will bring up the page in a new tab

Open the StumbleUpon Share Feature


On the left hand corner of the page you will see the ability to share directly to Twitter by clicking the icon.

Log In to the Nominated StumbleUpon Account


In most cases you will see this screen – click Login with “Email” in the top right hand corner

Enter your Account Details in the Login Page


If you are prompted enter the password/username for the relevant account your are posting for an click sign in


Fill in the custom fields provided by StumbleUpon


StumbleUpon wll then prompt you to fill in some information about the page we wish to socialise.

When it asks “is this page safe for work” – click YES

Then for “What’s this page about’? – you will have to find the industry which is most relevant to the content you are publishing. There is a long list so if you are not sure please check back with us.

For the tags – generate some which are relevant to the article – these can match the exact tags of the article if they are relevant which you or another individual should have already pre-populated

For the write a comment section write a 50-100 unique summary about the article – be aware to input at least two to three keywords into this which are relevant to the article

Confirming your post has been added


To confirm your stumble has been aded make sure you see a screen like the one above. Please screenshot this and place in your Dropbox folder. If you don’t simply go to and visit the “Your Likes” section
