In this article we are going to look at the steps we will undertake to publish an article to Google Plus . For specific login details – these will vary from organisation to organisation – however herein will assume we are publishing for David Cruwys from Ideasmen.

Select the Post You Would Like to Publish on Google Plus from WordPress
Go into the WordPress for the site you wish to publish for instance ideasmen.com.au/wp-admin.php and sign in. Then
- Click the Posts button on the left hand navigation bar
- Click the article you wish to promote
- Ensure that you are only doing this for articles which are published – you can ratify this by the status of the article
Open the Article You Wish to Post on Google Plus
Now that you are only the WordPress for the actual page:
1. Hold Control and click “View Post” – which will bring up the page in a new tab
Open the Google Plus Share Feature
On the left hand corner of the page you will see the ability to share directly to Google Plus by clicking the icon.
Log In to the Nominated Google Plus Account
Upon clicking the Google Plus button you will be prompted to login with the details for the individual you are publishing on behalf of. You may have already accessed this account on your computer – in this case the user name and password will be provided. However if the incorrect password or no password at all are displayed – please click ‘Sign in with a diffrent account’ denoted by number 1 above.
Log In to the Nominated Google Plus Account (continued)
In this case we see that the pre-saved account is David Cruwys indicated by (1) however in the case that this was the incorrect account we could simply enter the login details by selecting (2) Add Account
Publishing the Post to the nominated Google Plus page
After proceeding through the login process – be sure to ensure the thumbnail for the article appears after waiting for up to ten seconds. Ensure that the publicity settings are set to public. In relation to the comment – you should reference the subject matter of the article in an informal way – for instance “Hey guys – have a quick look at my article which explains how to…..” as just one example. Then click Share.
Checking that you have successfully posted to Google Plus
To determine whether or not the post has been successful go to Google Plus by typing in the URL or clicking here.
The post should now be visible from the Google Plus homepage of the individual you are posting for. You may be prompted to login again – but this process is exactly the same as outlined previously.
Relaying the successful Google Plus share
To let us know that the share has been successful please take a screenshot of the visible post and place this in your Dropbox folder
